Young Clayton Mulligan found religion,
Oh yes he did! Oh yes he did!
Brought a firey frenzy to his people,
Oh mercy me! Oh mercy me!
Holy God began speakin to him,
Oh hallelu! Oh hallelu!
God said, son here's a chalice,
The Holy Grail! The Holy Grail!
Wine therin is my blood,
So drink it up! Drink it up!
Clayton Mulligan and his people,
swore their souls were revived!
Salvation came! Oh salvation came!
Oh the mountains they moved,
and the dead they did raise.
Holy Spirit poured over them
freely in those days.
We are the chosen!
We are the chosen!
But the water and the fire raged too long,
Tithing became his selfish song.
Clayton pocketed his faith and
led the people like the sheep they were,
To the cliff all religions face sooner or later.
Jump cause I say so!
Just cause I say so!
Where lines become blurred
and the weaker become bitter.
The stronger emerge as bullies,
cause there isnt anyone left that will
stand on their own.
So the devil stepped in,
revelling in the sin.
Taking the lonely and the lost,
making them believe it was a
good cause.
Forget your familes!
Forget your loved ones!
Ol Clayton Mulligan raked in the dough,
Oh he did, when Lucifer ran the show.
His God was forgotten ,
Black and white became a gray.
There really was no need now,
for him to pray.
Built his church to the heavens,
aquired those hypocritic groupies.
All unsullied virgins of course,
and he blessed them in his bed.
Seven times!
Seven times!
But as we come to the end of
Claytons story,
We see him old and alone
and oh so very sorry.
Cause he sees now he is going
to die anyway, nothing is sacred.
And nothing is holy.
He realizes the ones around him,
only want his money.
Paying the price!
Paying the price!
Praise be for sanctified cults
that hide behind the single word
called, church.
Where greed and hate grows.
Where power rises and then it falls.
Where christians devour the ones,
less than their perfections.
And as Clayton Mulligan breathes his
last earthly breath,
He leaves behind a legacy that'll be,
easily buried and then forgotten.
His life meant nothing when it
began and when it ended.
All because,
Young Clayton Mulligan found religion,
Oh yes he did! Oh yes he did!
